Cancer Treatment Information:  Information about cancer treatment, including surgery,
chemotherapy, radiation therapy, clinical trials, proton therapy, complementary medicine, and
cutting edge technologies. 

Cancer Matching Service: Would you like to be matched up with someone who has the same type of cancer that you or your loved one has?  You can do that through the Cancer Hope Network.  This group will put you in touch with a volunteer with the same type of cancer who is at least one year post-diagosis, to discuss treatment, symptoms, or just coping strategies.  Call 1-877-467-3638, or use the link below:

Oral, Head or Neck cancer -- information and support:  This group, known as SPOHNC, has information specifically related to oral, head or neck cancers, and has a data base of regional oral/head/neck cancer support groups throughout the country (including one in Augusta, GA).  Contact them at 1-800-377-0928, or via the link below.

Mesothelioma -- information and support:  Asbestos is the primary cause of mesothelioma.  Asbestos.com offers education and resources on all three types of mesothelioma, and has a patient advocacy program which guides patients through steps to take after a diagnosis.

Cancer Coping Strategies:  Coping With Cancer - 10 Steps to Emotional Well Being. 
 
Eating Hints for Cancer Patients:  Diet is an important part of treatment for cancer.   
The US Cancer Institute offers advice on how to eat the right kinds of foods before, during,
and after your treatment to help you feel better and stay stronger.
Cancer Research and Development:  An easy to use database of the latest developments
in treatment and research, compiled by a local oncology group.  You can search by type of cancer
or sort by date.
 
Pain Control – A Guide for Cancer Patients and their Families:  Cancer pain can
almost always be relieved and controlling your cancer pain is part of the overall treatment for
cancer.   You have a right to pain relief, and you should insist on it.
